The Loch Arkaig Jacobite Gold

The Loch Arkaig Jacobite Gold: still unexplained.

The Story

What is claimed · what is sourced · what is still disputed

France sent gold for a rising that was already bleeding out. So the coin went into Highland ground, entrusted to men whose ledgers grew quieter every year. Some was spent, some stolen, and some, by every honest reckoning, is still under the heather.
